ChatGPT Maker OpenAI and Microsoft have announced that they are expanding their current partnership. This comes on the heels of OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT popularity and awe. Microsoft has been rumored to be preparing a ChatGPT integration with Bing search results as well as bringing OpenAI’s language AI technology into apps like Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
OpenAI’s workloads are exclusively powered by Microsoft’s Azure. Microsoft had previously made large investments in OpenAI<\/a> in 2019 and 2021 and now Microsoft to invest about $10 billion into OpenAI although the figure is not officially disclosed. This will be a “multi-year, multi-billion-dollar” investment supporting systems like ChatGPT<\/a>, DALL-E 2 and GPT-3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n OpenAI will remain a capped-profit company as a part of the new investment deal with Microsoft. Under the model, investors returns are limited to 100 times their investment or possibly less in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over the past few years, OpenAI has been able to achieve things like building supercomputers powered by Azure, deploying OpenAI technology through the Azure OpenAI service, and incorporating OpenAI\u2019s technology into GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Designer as well as services like Power Apps and Microsoft Edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Microsoft<\/a> stated that it will continue investments in developing supercomputing systems to further OpenAI\u2019s research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company will also incorporate OpenAI technology into its products, such as Azure OpenAI Service, which provides developers access to OpenAI models to build AI<\/a> applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “We formed our partnership with OpenAI around a shared ambition to responsibly advance cutting-edge AI research and democratize AI as a new technology platform.
